ZX MAX 128, the ZX Spectrum clone based on Altera EPM7128, fits original case of ZX Spectrum 48K or 48K+
You will receive kit of components for DIY assembly, AV cable and 12V/1A power supply. All chips are tested with ZX MAX 128 board.
Important build notes:
- components for ESP8266 WiFi extension are not supplied
- C6 and C7 capacitors must be replaced with 10pF (included) to make the crystal oscillator work
- R11 resistor must be replaced with 0 ohm resistor or wire to make the crystal oscillator work
- C2 must be replaced with 22uF (included), the reset signal needs to be delayed to overcome slow 5V rise of the DCDC converter
- PCB version 3
- 32K ROM (27C256) and 128K RAM
- AY-3-8910 sound chip
- AY audio output is available on EAR/MIC and SCART connector
- low efficient LM7805 linear regulator is replaced with modern DCDC converter, overheating is reduced to minimum
- total consumption of about 0.2A from 12V DC power supply
- very good compatibility with original ZX Spectrum, works with DivIDE, DivMMC and other hardware
- supplied either with original Z80 CPU or alternative SHARP LH0080A CPU
note that video output is available on RED chinch connector,
use RGB SCART cable for the best video quality, you can adapt widely available Sega Mega Drive 2 SCART cable (works fine even unmodified), the cable schematic diagram and project documentation is available on:
